The project involves the production of two prefabricated cast irons through CNC techniques for the construction of the peristyle basins of the Palace of the Goats.
The design was based on the three-dimensional rendering through photogrammetry of the preserved parts of the basins.
For their production, it is necessary to cast 8 architectural members with different terminations, which are sequentially placed on a fixed base for flexibility in construction with maximum possible precision.
Each basin is made of approximately 500 kg of mortar, metal reinforcement and other pigment bases according to the recipe of the project’s conservator.
The construction of these parts requires great precision due to the difference between each basin and its neighboring kennels, which is of the order of one millimeter.
